Is migration a threat or an advantage?

The issue of migration is currently controversial. My interest in this object of study arises from the opinions divided as to whether it is a contribution or a threat. In terms of public policies, it is no less important. And that this topic is used in technical discussions and policies assigns more relevance.

Some people believe that immigrants have negative consequences on the values and culture of the receiving country. But let's look at the case of the United States to verify, for the moment, the falsity of these assertions.

In the United States, they pride themselves on having a truly American culture. Sectors of society criticize that foreigners, especially Asians and Latin Americans, are an obstacle to their way of life. We must consider that the United States, throughout its history, has constantly received waves of immigration and, in the 19th century, laws were already passed that discriminated the origin of immigrants and, beyond the data, we know that values such as Christian faith or the white skin of people do not have a proper American origin, but they have an Asian and European origin, respectively. Immigrants make it possible to avoid demographic aging and unemployment, along with enriching world views or gastronomy.
